Pattress Board | Packwall High-Density Fixing Board

Packwall Pattress Board is a high-density fixing board manufactured from 100% recycled beverage cartons. Designed for installation behind plasterboard partitions in timber frame and drywall construction, this pattress board provides a secure, tested fixing zone for wall-mounted equipment across residential and commercial buildings. With a racking strength of 3.47 kN/m — more than double the Category 1 benchmark of 1.68 kN/m — it delivers structural performance alongside its acoustic and sustainability credentials.

Why Specify Packwall Pattress Board

Superior Racking Strength

Packwall Pattress Board achieves a basic test racking resistance of 3.47 kN/m to BS 5268-6.1 — significantly exceeding the Category 1 benchmark of 1.68 kN/m set for materials including 9.5mm plywood, 9.0mm OSB and 12.0mm chipboard. This makes it one of the strongest pattress board options available for timber frame partition walls, providing confidence that wall-mounted fixings will hold securely over time.

100% Recycled Content

Manufactured entirely from recycled beverage cartons, Packwall Pattress Board is a genuinely sustainable specification choice. It contributes to LEED and BREEAM targets without compromising on structural or acoustic performance — making it an ideal specification for environmentally conscious residential and commercial projects.

Excellent Fire Performance

Packwall Pattress Board is used in tested partition wall systems with outstanding fire resistance. Tested to EN 1364-1 by RISE Sweden and the University of Liège, it delivers EI 90 fire classification and performs to above 113 minutes integrity and insulation when installed as part of a complete wall system. Fire classification B-s1, d0 — suitable for use in buildings with fire performance specification requirements.

Easy to Process and Install

Packwall Pattress Board can be sawn, drilled and screw fixed using standard site tools. It installs as part of standard drywall construction, positioned behind plasterboard partitions to create a continuous fixing zone across the wall. No specialist tools or processes required.

Low Formaldehyde Emissions

With formaldehyde emissions below 0.01 mg/m³, Packwall Pattress Board is safe for use in occupied residential and commercial buildings, including schools, healthcare facilities and housing developments.

You can contact our team via email or phone for guidance — we’ll ask about your space and requirements and recommend the best acoustic solutions tailored to your project.

Yes. Combining absorption (to control echoes) with insulation or isolation (to block transmission) often yields the best overall acoustic environment, especially for flats, apartments, studios, or high-noise spaces.
