Acoustic Cradle | Isocheck Floor Cradle System
Isocheck Acoustic Cradle is a professional grade suspended floor system designed to significantly reduce impact sound transmission through uneven, cambered or irregular concrete floors. By elevating the floor on timber battens supported by adjustable plastic acoustic cradles, this system decouples the floor from the structure beneath — one of the most effective methods of reducing impact noise transmission in residential and commercial buildings.
Why Specify an Acoustic Cradle System
Effective Impact Noise Reduction
The acoustic cradle system works by isolating the floor from the concrete slab below. Each cradle supports a timber batten which in turn supports the finished floor, preventing impact energy from footsteps and movement transmitting directly through the structure. When installed as part of a complete party floor construction, the Isocheck acoustic cradle system enables concrete floors to meet the sound transmission standards of Approved Document E 2003 and subsequent amendments in 2004, 2010, 2013 and 2015.
Suitable for Uneven and Irregular Floors
Unlike flat acoustic underlays that require a level substrate, this acoustic cradle system is specifically designed for use over uneven, cambered, level or irregular hollow core, in-situ or supported metal deck concrete floors. Levelling packers in various thicknesses are included to accommodate floor irregularities, with elevating blocks available where extra height is required.
Adjustable and Flexible
The injection moulded plastic cradle is adjustable, allowing the floor height to be set precisely across uneven substrates. The system also facilitates the incorporation of building services beneath the raised floor and is frequently specified alongside water based underfloor heating systems.
Isopoli HD Resilient Layer
Each acoustic cradle includes a 5mm layer of Isopoli HD foam bonded directly to the base of the cradle. This high density resilient layer absorbs impact energy at the point of contact, reducing the transmission of both impact and airborne sound through the floor construction.
Robust Detail Compliant
The Isocheck acoustic cradle system is suitable for use on New Build Robust Detail constructions FFT2, typically within Robust Details E-FC-1, E-FS-1, E-FC-2 and E-FC-7 — making it suitable for new build residential developments requiring compliance with current building regulations.
Typical Floor Construction
